You may see the text "Online Check access not foundoptions" when you are viewing a record from one of our data providers (and not a record we cataloged here at Harvard), and we do not have full-text access to that resource. In this scenario, we will attempt to query our local data sources to find a similar item. We will display any related items we find, which in some cases will be different versions of the same work that match only on author and title, but possibly not year, edition, publisher, etc.
If we cannot find similar items in our local data sources, we will present other request options.
We continue to work on improving this feature and appreciate your patience.
What happens in that scenario is the following:
- HOLLIS sends a query to our local data source (Alma) to see if we any records with the same ISBN or ISSN
- If a similar item is found (based on matching ISBN / ISSN), availability information for that item will be displayed
- If no match is found, HOLLIS will present an option to request the resource via Interlibrary Loan
In the example below, the record shown is an ebook version of Imagining Xerxes. We do not subscribe to this ebook, therefore we do not have full-text online access. HOLLIS displays our holdings for the print version held at Widener Library. You can use the Request Pick Up link to place a hold on the book.
