Associated bibs in Alma

Each Collection and Sub-Collection record in Alma has a corresponding bib record. The bib is created automatically when collection/sub-collection is created, and should be edited per the following instructions. 

  • Each bib should have the 914 No-WorldCat field
  • If the Collection is strictly for Alma internal use to help manage Alma-D collections:
    • the bib record should be suppressed
    • in the MDE, add suffix " - Alma management record" to the 245 $a
  • If the Collection is for the HOLLIS Staff record sets feature
    • do not suppress the bib
    • in the MDE, add suffix " - HOLLIS "Staff record sets" management record" to the 245 $a
