The Hotwire anemometers redone.

Stray thoughts on what could have gone wrong:

  • It was no realized that inputs on the LabJack repeats, the 4 ports on the LabJack itself are not separate from the ports on the extension board. Rather they are repeated on the rightmost part of the extension board.
  • There might have been an accidental short-circuit in the way we were connecting the DB-9 cables, we have "male" coming out of the carbon tubes and "male" connectors at the other end compared to what goes into the LabJack, how do we connect these?

February 2nd 2023

Tested all sensors, found 4 sensors that at no air movement reads around 1.4 V and once a fan is turned on reads 2.1 V. Rest of the sensors seemed in consistent. Divided sensors up into good and bad sensors.

The test setup:

Connected the power supply, set to 12V. Connected negative to ground on lab jack + ground on sensor. while positive was connected to Sensor 9-12V input. connected out to AIN0 on LabJack, connected Temp to AIN1 on LabJack.

Next I tested the Carbon tubes with DB-9 cables in them. This was done by connecting the sensor end to the cables mounted to one of the good sensors. The other end was connected to a DB-9 test stand which in turn was connected to power and the LabJack.
