Patron Services

The Patron Services office assists both Harvard-affiliated and external customers, and provides support for all the members of the Imaging Services department. We are located in office G-81 on the ground floor of Widener Library.

We provide -

For the PUBLIC:

  • Front Desk staffing for over-the-counter library reproduction services
  • Phone and email support
  • Book retrieval from Widener, Lamont, Pusey, HD, and ReCAP
  • Coordination with other repositories within Harvard Library
  • Cost estimates and payment processing
  • A public website with information about our services (https://projects.iq.harvard.edu/imagingcustomerservice/about-us)

For IMAGING SERVICES:

  • Creation of IS Project Job Tickets from Batch Transfer Forms
  • Processing of Aeon copy orders
  • Filing of all order-related paperwork, both OTC and Project
  • Retrieval and delivery from the DRS of already-digitized material to fill Aeon orders
  • Cost estimates and coordination with outside vendors
  • Processing and billing support for large-scale digital imaging projects
  • Procurement of supplies for the entire Imaging Services department

For OTHER HARVARD LIBRARIES and REPOSITORIES:

  • Liaison service between patrons and Imaging Services' production area personnel
  • Financial reporting on digitization projects
