Checking the Condition of an Item (Studio)
Checking the Condition of an Item (Studio)
While the photography studio does not have the same size or condition restrictions as lab orders, there are
still potential issues, which must be taken into consideration.
Issues that can impact studio orders:
- Excessive folding or wrinkling of paper or vellum
- Overlays that do not fold back well
- Excessive glue or tape
- Reflective material
- Volumes, which require extra support
- Light-sensitive material
- Oversize material
- 3 dimensional objects
Often these items can still be photographed, but it may require meeting with the photography manager,
photographer, and/or conservator to determine how best to proceed.
