System Administration and Governance (DRAFT)
ArchivesSpace (aka ASpace) is an open-source collection-management application for use with archives and special collections. Harvard Library first implemented ASpace (version 1.0.3) on August 14, 2015 with seven participating repositories. As of February 2025, it’s 34 participating repositories.
User Registration |

Each repository has a Login Liaison and Login Approver who can initiate ASpace user login requests. |
Technical Support |

HUIT Library Technology Services (LTS) maintains the technical infrastructure and provides technical and user support. |
System Configuration & User Preferences |

Staff can manage their own user preferences. Your Designated Repository Manager (DRM) manages repository-wide preferences, templates, defaults, etc. |
Governance & Oversight |

Alex Duryee is the Service Manager for Archives & Special Collections Systems in Harvard Library. The ArchivesSpace & Archival Discovery Working Group (ASADWG) is the advisory group and system stakeholder. |
