Create a New Analysis

To begin a new, blank analysis:

  1. Go to Analytics >> Design Analytics to open Alma Analytics
  2. Click on New
  3. Click on Analysis
  4. Choose a Subject Area. For details about each Subject Area, see the Ex Libris documentation on Creating a New Report
  5. When you choose a Subject Area (such as Physical Items), your work space will open
  6. Click on the triangle icon in front of a dimension name to display all available description and measurement columns. For example, click on the arrow to expand Physical Items in a tree view, with all dimensions listed in alphabetical order. (see screenshot below)
  7. Add columns to your report by clicking and dragging them across to the Selected Columns area, or by double-clicking on the field name
  8. Click on the Results tab to see the report / results of the analysis
  9. Save the analysis to My Folders with a easy-to-understand title and description

Once you have copied or created an analysis, you can edit it in a wide variety of ways:

 

Practice Example

Practice Creating a New Analysis
If you'd like to practice creating a new analysis, try a brief Physical Items report:
  1. Choose Physical Items subject area.
  2. Add these columns to the report by selecting and dragging them across to Selected Columns area, or by double clicking on the field name:

  3. Click and hold on the Library Name column to drag it to the left of the Physical Item Details columns.
  4. Click on the Results tab to see the report / results of the analysis.
  5. Save the analysis to My Folders as "Physical items – statistics per library," with the description "Percentage of borrowed items loaned."
  6. Add this analysis to Favorites to see how that works.
