OpenAthens
Harvard Library has migrated its authentication from EZproxy to OpenAthens. This allows for more modern identity management and makes our resources more secure. If you have links that contain ezp-prod1.hul.harvard.edu, they will no longer work as of June 1, 2026. Using a permalink from HOLLIS is a great way to avoid the need to make future link changes as platforms continue to evolve for our resources. Alternatively, you can use a tool developed by Library Technology Services to convert your EZproxied link to one that works with OpenAthens via the EZproxy Link Transformer.
About OpenAthens
OpenAthens is a system that supports HarvardKey authentication for licensed online resources, including journals, ebooks, and databases. OpenAthens is a more secure and effective way to access library resources and it will gradually replace EZproxy.
