Harvard VIA records are a local metadata schema somewhat aligned with VRA. Each record contains either a work or a group element at the top level, which may or may not include components. followed by optional levels of hierarchy as outlined below. Each level of hierarchy has its own metadata elements such as title, creator, etc.
