1. The Harvard Chan Intranet is in active development

Last updated 07/07/2024

In order to provide Intranet site editors as much time as possible to review and organize their content ahead of the community rollout, we are providing users early access to the intranet. The service is still under active development, so users should expect bugs, potential for broken links, and missing features, especially on the front-end (user facing). At this point there is no need to report bugs to IT; you will be notified by email when we change this guidance.

2. Current page visibility options: "Harvard Affiliates" and "Public"

Last updated 07/09/2024

At present, the only two visibility options are "Harvard affiliates" (HarvardKey holders) and "Public." In early August, new features will be rolled out allowing site editors to adjust page visibility settings for HSPH access groups (Faculty, Staff, Students, etc.) and Grouper groups.

3. Widgets are inconsistently displayed

Sidebar widgets on several sites did not migrate successfully. Please re-create them manually. We apologize for the inconvenience.

4. Mobile layout and navigation are not working correctly

Last updated 07/01/2024

The navigation menus on mobile devices (phones, tablets) are not fully functional and only display the primary and secondary menu levels at this time. We will be rolling out the third-level display in early August.

4. Files uploaded to WordPress are publicly accessible

by default

Last updated 07/11/2024

Documents and images uploaded to WordPress (such as .PDF, .PPT, .DOC, .JPG, .PNG, etc.) are publicly accessible by defaultindependently of your site access restriction. If you need to restrict access to a specific file, please upload it to SharePoint and include the SharePoint link on your intranet site. We are looking into ways to improve this.
