About This Page

This is for creation of parser parameter when electronic portfolio is not available in the Community Zone.

Required Information or Action

You have to wait until you get the NOA or until the eBook is activated in EBSCOhost eBooks to get the Accession number.

If the parser parameter you created is not working

If the parser parameter you created is not working you can check other portfolios in the electronic collection to confirm the format of the parser

General Format

The parser parameter format for the electronic collection EBSCOhost eBooks is:

ID=Accession #

EBSCOhost Accession #

The accession number is an EBSCOhost-generated number.

How to Create the Parser Parameter for a Local Portfolio Attached to this Collection

When should you create parser parameter?

There are two times when you can create the parser parameters:

1 - At the point of creating the Local Portfolio for ordering (this is recommended for most except for EBSCOhost eBooks)

OR

2 - At the point of activation (this is recommended for EBSCOhost eBooks)

At the Point of Creating the Local Portfolio for Ordering

  • Note: This cannot be done for EBSCOhost materials. The accession number is not known until the NOA is sent and EBSCO has activated the eBook access.

  • eResources recommends adding the notation "ID=Accession #" at that point as a placeholder/reminder.

At the Point of Activation in Alma

  1. Update the Parser parameters (override) with ID=Accession number (see image below)
  2. Test access to make sure you did it correctly

Where is the EBSCOhost Accession Number Found?

In the NOA

It is the last sequence of numbers at the end of the URL:

On the EBSCOhost eBooks Website

It can be found on the title page of the eBook on EBSCOne:

  • No labels
