Printing Methods
Alma manages printing via emailing, using one of three setups:
Printing Method | Description | What LTS needs in order to configure |
---|---|---|
Email-enabled networked printer | Alma prints directly to an email-enabled network printer that has its own email address. (BER is the only known library with this setup.) |
|
Manual printing by library | Alma sends print jobs to an existing library/user email account (e.g. lamcirc@fas.harvard.edu). Library staff must print emails either manually or by setting up an email client rule. |
|
Namtuk: Automated printing to a non-email-enabled networked printer using third-party print management solution. | Alma sends print jobs to a dedicated printing-only email address managed by LTS (e.g. wid-printer-1@exchange.harvard.edu). Mail is routed through a third party print management system (Namtuk AEM) and automatically printed to an existing networked printer at the library. |
