The Office for the Arts (OFA) Dance Program invites you to join this all-levels workshop with renowned House dancer and educator Caleaf Sellers, aka Big Leaf! Sellers is a leader within the street dance community and one of the original pioneers to come out of the late 80's New York dance movement. Fusing House and Hip Hop to create his own unique style, Sellers will teach the foundation of House dance and demonstrate how it relates to other dance styles. Using these foundations, students will learn how variation helps to develop one’s own identity within the dance. Through discussion and demonstration, students will also learn how to differentiate various types of House music genres, learn their origins, and how these sounds affect the body and help create new movements.

Additionally, Sellers will discuss the history of the dance and share some of his personal experiences within club culture and as a professional dancer. The workshop will be followed by a Q&A.

Live DJ will be provided by Liza Zayas-Sellers, aka Luna del Flor.

Free and open to the public! All participants must be 18 years or older.
