For non-Aeon-using repositories ONLY. Do not alter Circulation Status for Aeon-users.

The Transaction Status (also known as the Circulation Status) in Aeon records the physical location of a requested item. This important feature allows owning repositories to know where their materials are at all times. When an owning repository using Aeon sends material to Imaging Services for digitization, they will update this queue themselves to either "In Imaging Services," or "In Photoduplication." (We would prefer that they all use "In Imaging Services," as it distinguishes our unit from other, in-house photoduplication services, and as new repositories come online, we will encourage this more specific use.)

The Transaction Status appears at the bottom left corner of every Aeon record.

When materials come to Imaging Services from repositories that do not use Aeon, Patron Services uses the Transaction (Circulation) Status in the following limited, but meaningful ways. Queue changes provide feedback to patrons, who can see these changes through their Aeon accounts. Be aware of the differences between what the patron sees on the Web and what appears to us in the Aeon Client.

Awaiting Request Processing - Reviewed  (Patron sees: "Request Received")

A general catch-all meaning “Working on it.” This status lets the patron know that we have received the request, and along with your initials in the “Staff Contact” field, lets other Harvard staff know who to contact if there are questions about the request.

Awaiting HD Delivery  (Patron sees: "In Item Retrieval")

Use this for materials requested from HD.

In Imaging Services  (Patron sees: "In Copy Processing")

Use this for all materials in our office, or in any production area.

Item Reshelved  (Patron sees: "Item Returned")

Route here when original item is either returned to Widener Circulation Desk, or picked up by owning repository. (This automatically routes to “Request Finished” but the History shows this extra step.) Remember to also remove the "Ready for Pick-up from G-81" flag.

Request Finished  (Patron sees: "Item Returned")

This is the ultimate last step for all orders. Those routed to "Item Reshelved" will come here automatically.

Special use: DRS download orders will be routed here when the images have been downloaded and are ready to deliver upon payment.

Those in RED should be used by Patron Services with non-Aeon repositories.
