Aeon Client v5.0.3 Upgrade Instructions

The upgrade is scheduled for 5/21/20 at 8am.

For current Aeon Client users who have administrator privileges on their home machines

  1. Once the Aeon Server has been successfully updated, click the Aeon logo on your desktop. You will receive a client/server mismatch message indicating the current installation (4.1) is lower than the server (5.0.3). 
  2. Click yes to run the updater. You will see the Aeon screen download the updater.

  3. Once the update has downloaded, click through the Aeon Client Setup dialog. Leave the “Complete” option selected on the Select Setup Method screen, then confirm the install on the next page.

  4. A green bar will display the progress of the update.

  5. Once setup is complete, click OK to exit the wizard.

  6. Click to launch the Aeon client. The login box will show you are now on version 5.0.3. Log in to the client as usual.

If you are not able to complete the installation or if you have any problems, please contact support@atlas-sys.com to request information to download the Aeon Client Installer. You will be provided with a secure link pointing you to the Aeon Downloads page and credentials to use to download the client installer. The installation steps are the same as above, but you will launch the installer from an executable (.exe) file rather than by clicking the client on your desktop.

NOTE: If you are using a machine that is different from the machine you ordinarily use for Aeon, you may need to remap your machine to the Aeon network drive. Please see these instructions for guidance: Access to the Aeon Network Drive - starting at the "Map the Network Drive" heading.

For current Aeon Client users who do NOT have administrative privileges on their home machines

Install the Aeon Client from the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

  1. Click Start Menu

  2. Type in Software Center
  3. Click Software Center
  4. You will see a list of applications that are available for download
  5. Click Software Center Refresh to ensure you have the most current list of applications
    • It may take a few minutes to update the Software Center
  6. Click the software you want to install - Aeon Client v5.0.3
  7. Click the Install button
  8. The Software Center will display the progress of the download
  9. Once downloaded, the program will begin to install

Aeon Client v4.1.0.0 Installer Instructions

Download the Aeon Client installer here:

To run the installer:

  1. Login to the computer as a user who has local admin rights
  2. Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder containing the HUIT_AeonClient4100_Install.exe file
  3. Right-click on the HUIT_AeonClient4100_Install.exe file and select Run as administrator
  4. A window with a crimson background will open and display installation status messages until complete. When the installation has finished, the window will close.

After installation, run the DBCChooser.bat utility to select a database appropriate to the location. (This has to be run as administrator):

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Aeon folder
  3. Double-click on the DBCChooser.bat file to run the utility. (You may not see the “.bat” part.)
  4. A window with a crimson background will open, prompting the user with a series of choices.
  5. Choose Production 
  6. Choose Library abbreviation
  7. The new database will be set and the window will close
