Access to the Aeon Network Drive

Staff using Aeon will need access to certain files located on a HUL network drive in order to use addons and print callslips and other documents. Access to the network drive can be requested by the Aeon library login liaisons for new staff members. Follow the instructions below to request network drive access and then map the network drive.

Request Access to the Network Drive from HUIT

When you have a new staff member, you will first need to submit a request to central HUIT using the following instructions:

Access to the HUL drives is restricted, so an Authorized Requester will need to approve your request. They will follow up with HUIT directly to approve your request.

Map the Network Drive

Once the new staff member has been granted access, she should map the network drive on her computer using the following instructions:

Windows 11

  1. Open up File Explorer
  2. Click on This PC on the left side 
  3. At the top of the window, click on the ellipses/"more info" menu and then click on Map network Drive
  4. For Drive, select ‘T’ as the drive letter
  5. For Folder, enter    \\sox1.university.harvard.edu\hul-gen\groups\Aeon
  6. Select the Reconnect at sign-in option
  7. Click the Finish button
  8. If you are not already signed into your HarvardKey, at the Enter network credentials prompt, type in university\[your Central Account ID] and your HarvardKey password
  9. Confirm that you have the T: option under This PC - click on the T drive and open it up just to confirm that your permissions are correctly set

Windows 10

  1. Open up File Explorer
  2. Click on This PC on the left side 
  3. At the top of the window, click on Computer and then click on Map network Drive
  4. For Drive, select ‘T’ as the drive letter
  5. For Folder, enter    \\sox1.university.harvard.edu\hul-gen\groups\Aeon
  6. Select the Reconnect at sign-in option
  7. Click the Finish button
  8. If you are not already signed into your HarvardKey, at the Enter network credentials prompt, type in university\[your Central Account ID] and your HarvardKey password
  9. Confirm that you have the T: option under This PC - click on the T drive and open it up just to confirm that your permissions are correctly set

Note: If you are not sure what your Central Account ID is, go to https://connections.harvard.edu/, look up your own directory record, and locate your Central Account ID at the bottom of the Contact Information section.
