Granting editing access to someone else (proxies)

Important: The owner of the profile must grant proxy access to their Catalyst profiles. Other users (proxies, department admins, SPH IT, ...) cannot grant proxy access on behalf of a Faculty member.

Proxies are people who can edit your profile on your behalf. All department admins will be automatically assigned to proxy their faculty's profiles. Faculty can also designate additional HarvardKey holders as proxies to edit their profiles.

1. Visit the Harvard Catalyst Profiles website at: https://connects.catalyst.harvard.edu/Profiles/search/
2. Click on the "Login" link and log in with your HarvardKey

3. Click on the "Manage Proxies" tab
4. Click on the "Add a Proxy" link

5. Enter Last Name, First Name
6. Click on "Search" link
7.  in the list of proxy search results (below), click on the user you would like to add

If a person is not found, user should put fewer search terms, such as Last Name only. Including Department might give unexpected results.

8. The new user will appear in the list under "Users who can edit your profile" (in alpha order)

9. When this is done, the person you granted access to can navigate to your profile and will see a button in the top menu that says "edit this profile".
