Legacy Harvard Wiki Grouper notification:

We’re excited to announce that Harvard Wiki was one of the first platforms to adopt Group Services, the new system -- provided by HUIT Identity and Access Management (IAM) and based on Grouper -- for creating and managing group membership data. Beginning on November 14th, 2017, wiki admins are able to see three options when adding a group to a wiki on the permissions page:

  • Reference Groups: created and updated automatically based on a person’s Harvard affiliation, role, and other attributes in IAM’s Identity Registry

  • Course Groups: created and updated automatically based on enrollment information from the registrar

  • Managed Groups: created manually (formerly referred to as “custom groups”)

Rather than adjusting memberships of your Managed Groups in iSites as admins have done in the past, in this initial rollout wiki admins partner with their school’s group administrator or the IAM team to make changes. See the IT Help Portal for contact information.
