Ordering Supplies
mailto:lewis_day@harvard.eduThere are two streams for ordering supplies in Technical Services, one for office supplies, and one for processing supplies:
Office supplies, including printer toner, pencils, printer paper, should be ordered by contacting the Administrative Assistant in the Librarian's Office.
Processing supplies, including Paige boxes, archival materials, file folders, prefabs, and other materials for the processing and storage of collection materials should be ordered by filling out the Technical Services Supplies Order Form. The Technical Services Librarian places and monitors these orders..
When ordering processing supplies, please be sure you know the manufacturer/supplier name, the supplier part or inventory number, description, and the number of each item required, The form will also prompt you to supply a web link to the appropriate item (such as the page at Gaylord with the prefab you want), If you who the supplier might be, please supply as much information as possible.
Please always place an order with at least 30 days lead time for manufacture and shipping.
If an order is going to take extra time to be processed, manufactured, or shipped, the Technical Services Librarian will alert you.
If you have questions regarding any aspect of supply ordering, please consult with the Technical Services Librarian.
The Google form will ask you for the following information:
- Vendor
- Other vendor (if not one of our preferred vendors)
- Item product number.
- Quantity needed.
- Date requested.
- Additional information (if you want to supply more information about an item which you want but don't know how to locate).
- Please attach any other content useful in ordering (for a web page or link to the specific item wanted).

Once you have requested a supply you can track the order process by accessing the spreadsheet of orders (below).
