Brief description of project

This will be an ongoing process where items are retrieved from HD/ReCAP and stacks for the EDIBA reading room (temp loc'd to WID WSRR). The initial volume is high, but collections staff, mostly in Widener, will be adding items to the list on a regular basis. We expect roughly 1400 items to be in the reading room at a time.

Configuration/Documentation

  • Rename former Special Collections RR (WID) workorder to "Request to Widener" and department to WID EDIBA WSRR.
  • KY to run batch jobs to change temp location and request items
  • No need to change item policy
  • KY to make WID WSRR unrequestable in FU config (ultimately pursuing new item policy to make items lendable but not requestable)
  • Document/clarify workflow with Access for removing work orders once items are on campus
  • Document/clarify process with Access for removing temp locs when these items are re-entering regular collection

Removing work orders

  • Who will do this? Jackson's team
  • Can be done in batch (requires training): For now Jackson has declined batch training for his team
  • Method 1:
    • Search for item in Requests menu
    • Find the button/option to cancel request and click it
    • Scan item again at WID Circ
  • Method 2: (requires work order operator permissions)
    • go to Manage in process items menu option
    • Find items in process and check off one or more
    • Look for the cancel option and click it
