How to link from text in one section of a page to text in a different section of the same page
PART ONE: Linking to (DO THIS FIRST)
- At the top of the page, to the right, click on "edit"
- Put the cursor at the beginning (or to the left) of the text that is closest to the bottom of the document.
- Click on the "+" (plus sign) on the editing bar at top of screen
- Choose "Other Macros"
- Click on picture of the anchor
- Type in a name for the anchor–it can be anything you want. It will not show up in the saved document.
- Click "insert" at bottom of the window
PART TWO; Linking from (DO THIS NEXT)
- Highlight the text that is closest to the top of the document
- Click on the "Insert Link" picture (not the plus sign)
- Click on "Advanced" from the menu to the left
- Fill lin the blank next to "Link" with the same name you gave the anchor, preceded by a number sign # (leave no space between the number sign and the anchor name)
- The blank next to "Link Text" will be automatically filled in with the text you have highlighted
- Click "insert"
- Click "save" and test out the links.
- Clicking on the first line of text in the upper section should bring you farther down in the document to the second line of text in a lower section of that same document.
