FY 2024 DPS Roadmap

This is a brief overview of the FY 2024 Objectives for Digital Preservation Services. This list focuses on special programmatic and project advancements, not ongoing operational work that is embedded into our service portfolio.

Agreement on conceptual foundations for DP
RFP process represents the the DPS perspective
Futures concepts and plans are fully socialized for pertinent internal stakeholders and external community peers

Bolster web archiving support

IPLC LOCKSS network deployed and operating
AIT testing and support pipeline established, socialized, and amplified


Build program resources

Licenses purchased for program support
HLPS website is migrated to new platform
AIT test account established
Revised onboarding procedures and resources

Complete format migrations

Access JP2s migrated to HTJ2K format
7,244 Photo CD files migrated to JP2s



Develop R&D projects

Documented potential workflow for preserving collections in Vault
Cost analysis of Vault for sample collections
Improved visibility of EaaSI platform
Cost analysis of adopting EaaSI at HL
Needs-based data for software and software-dependent collections


Establish digital accessions service

Forensic lab furnished with initial space and minimally-necessary h/w and s/w
1-2 pilot projects completed
Successful outreach and socialization of this as a new DPS service offering
Established a "test set" of media


Expand email archiving activities

4 units onboarded to ePADD
ePADD training pathways established and promoted
Ongoing ePADD support model is initiated


Nurture team growth

1-2 "passion projects" identified
Professional development trainings completed
Bi-annual team retreats
