Creating Reports

You can access the Reports module by clicking on the “Reports” option in the Repository list of command options. This leads to a series of administrative report options for basic metrics using the data recorded in ArchivesSpace. The available choice of outputs for each report are: JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), CSV (Comma-separated values), XLSX (Microsoft Excel), HTML, and PDF. The data downloads into a file that you can save.


The functionality of the reports in ArchivesSpace continues to be reviewed by the ArchivesSpace development team. Unfortunately the canned reports, though many, do not enable the selection of specific fields and/or timeframes for reporting; they are quite basic and the fields reported on are pre-determined. Only one of the reports, “Created Accessions” gives you the option to search within a specific timeframe. Most reports use a single module (Accessions, for example). Further development with community input is needed.
