The photography studio at Imaging Services fulfills requests for

high resolution images to be used in publication. It handles

publishable quality images and accommodates a wide range

of material types and sizes

and corrects each image individually ensuring fidelity to the original. Oversize

.  Oversize and fragile material that cannot be digitized on the reference scanners are also sent to the photography studio to be processed.

  1. First page the item.
  2. If this a box from HD, then clone the item numbers or folders. 
  3. Once you have the item in hand, check its condition to determine if it can be processed by the machines in the lab. 
  4. If the condition requires attention before scanning, send the item to conservation.
  5. Count the item.
  6. Determine if metadata is needed.
  7. Follow these preliminary steps.
  8. Write the order. 
    1. Add high resolution if necessary. 
    2. Add color bar and targets if requested.
    3. Add the volume discount if it applies.
    4. Add fold outs if they exist. 
    5. Add two page spreads if warranted.
    6. If Houghton paying for a portion of the order, follow the Fill Out Fund instructions.

  9. Use a template to create the email to the patron.

  11. Once the order is paid, the Reproductions Coordinator will deliver and return the item.
