Houghton Library only scans requests under 15 images locally at no charge. (Requests that total 15 images or more are sent to Imaging Services as a lab order.) All All in-house scans are delivered through the patron's Aeon account.
Houghton Library does not participate in Harvard Library’s Scan and Deliver program. Any requests from Harvard affiliates will be processed in accordance with the policy above. In an instance where a Harvard affiliate has requested Please note that when requests are made by Harvard affiliates for more than one article from a journal under copyright, Houghton will follow the rules of Scan and Deliver and provide only one article.
- Review the request.
- Page the material.
- If the material is from HD and requires a separate call slip, clone as needed.
- Change the circulation status to In Photoduplication – In HouseOn the Process ribbon, click on the Route button. Scroll down to Photoduplication and select In Photoduplication – In House to change the status. (If you are scanning in a batch of requests, go to the home screen, click Process, scroll down to In Photoduplication, uncheck Prompt on Invalid Status, move the cursor to the empty field, and scan the barcodes.)
- Check the material to determine if it is suitable for in house scanning.
- Scan the material.
- Upload the images to Aeon.
- Send the HOU - Item Delivered email to the patron.
- Return the material when done.
