Entering Call Numbers in ALEPH - Obsolete

Enter call numbers in an 852 field in a holdings record linked to a bibliographic record. Each copy should have its own holdings record. Code call numbers as indicated below:

Houghton classifications, B, transfers from Widener:

1^st indicator	8
2^nd indicator	[blank] (or 1 if multi-part or serial)
subfield b	HOU
subfield c	choose appropriate size code from the list of authorized values
subfield h	call number
subfield m	certain fixed locations – e.g. $m Lobby IV.1.1

Transfers from Widener with WID-LC call numbers:

1^st indicator	0
2^nd indicator	[blank] (or 1 if multi-part or serial)
subfield b	HOU
subfield c	choose appropriate size code from list of authorized values
subfield h	classification part of call number
subfield i	item part of call number
