IV.7. 050 : Library of Congress Call Number Field

If not retaining the accession number as call number per usual, accept the most appropriate OCLC record as is and retain the 050 field when imported to Alma. When a record in Alma has duplicate 050 and 090, retain both.

When holdings record is created from the newly imported bib record, Alma may take the initiative to populate the call number in 852 from the 050 field.  Delete the call number created from 050 and use the Houghton accession number as assigned (per Aeon slip). For special projects without a pre-assigned accession number (or a range of numbers), the Acquisitions Assistant must be contacted to reeive the accession number(s).
