Order Prep and Paging

  1. Preparing to Page/Order Review in Aeon
    1. Update Aeon Request if necessary
      1. Review over the request. Adjust and move any information in the wrong field. Move any item numbers into the Folder/Item field.
    2. Navigate to the Catalog Search tab and use the buttons on top or search field to locate and import the catalog record
      1. If the request has AS in the sublocation field, then navigate to the ArchivesSpace Containers tab and import the corresponding box.
    3. Move the circulation queue to Awaiting Request Processing-Reviewed or Awaiting HD Processing.
    4. Add initials to the paging notes to "claim order" before printing call-slips
  2. Move transaction to Order Under Review
  3. All staff page their own materials to limit contact
  4. Once material is paged, change the circulation status to In Photoduplication – In House

Basic HoverCam Scanning

  1. Open the HoverCam software. 
  2. Position the material under the scanner.
  3. The scanner screen has the following options


  4. To scan the current item, click the "Snapshot" key on the control dock
  5. Your snapshots are stored by default in the following subdirectory: C:\Users\[name]\Documents\KnoteSter Suite

  6. When all scanning is completed, click "Go To Archive" at the left of the screen. The archive feature allows you to view your files and save them.
  7. The "Archive" window has the following options
    1. Stack
    2. Unstack
    3. Delete
    4. Create PDF
    5. OCR
    6. Export
    7. Email
    8. Print
  8. Make a PDF of the images by selecting "Create PDF." Move the PDF to your desktop by using the "Export" button, and then drag to the appropriate folder on the shared drive.


Editing Images

  1. If you need to adjust an image, open the control dock located at the bottom of the initial home screen.
    1. Collapse and expand the control dock by clicking on the pull-out tab under the Multi-Scan icon.
  2. Adjustments
    1. Selecting the adjustments button will open another window, where you can modify the brightness, saturation, contrast, focus, exposure and white balance.
  3. Cropping
    1. Clicking the cropping button will open a second window which will allow you to crop, capture, straighten and focus.
      1. Crop - select a specific area
      2. Capture - creates an image of the cropped area
      3. Straighten - adjust the angle of the scan
      4. Gridlines - applies gridlines to the cropped image so you can check the alignment of your document Crop screen options
