III.4 Unprocessed material

Houghton has never had a survey done of the unprocessed collections. However, over the years a number of collections that were uncataloged or under-cataloged have been identified:

1. There is an old “projects list” in the shared drive which was historically used for planning purposes but it is not very useful at this point since it has not been updated for a few years

2. Much of Widener transfers (24 bays?) are known to be absent or barely in HOLLIS

3. There is a lot of fall-out from the original 1984 recon project; much was not cataloged and we lost huge amounts of important information from the cards (currently about 350 drawers) when inferior records were brought in

4. Ephemera (broadsides and many pamphlets)

5. Ward Collection

6. Theatre was not a part of the recon project so a lot of the printed monographs and serials may not be in HOLLIS
