Patron Imaging Requests from the Reading Room

See the FAQ for answers to common questions about reproductions. Pricing information may be found here. Please note that we do not accept requests for reference requests from the reading room unless the patron is unable to their own images due to disability.

Consultation Room

Existing Requests: 

Patron arrives at the library and wants to page a request that is in the photography queue.

  • Reference scans:
    • Explain to the patron that they will be expected to take their own photos.
    • Navigate to the billing tab.
    • Go to the cancel button at the top of the page.
    • Unhighlight the Send Email button.
    • Cancel the order portion of the request
  • Publication quality scans:
    • Explain to the patron that they will have to flag the item.
    • Ask them to retrieve the Photoduplication Instruction sheet and flags from the staff member in the reading room.

New Requests: 

Patron places request for scans while in the reading room.

  • Reference scans:
    • Refer them to the staff member in the consultation room to explain our policy.
  • Publication quality scans:
    • Hand the patron flags and  the photoduplication Instruction sheet.
    • When the item is returned, check to make sure that the flags are filled out properly. (The flag(s) should have a date, page number or some kind of description at the top.) 
    • Write “route to photodup” on the top of the slip and stacks staff will route it to the correct queue..

Reading Room

Stacks

  1. Route the item to Photoduplication – On Hold.
  2. Bring item to hold shelf in Houghton Basement.
  3. The Reproductions Coordinator will pick up or arrange delivery to Pusey with the Circulation and Collections Coordinator.
