Use by Non-Harvard Depositors
Non-Harvard DRS deposit agents can deposit content into the DRS when sponsored by Harvard units. A valid Harvard ID and access to a Harvard VPN tunnel are required for DRS deposits.
DRS depositors use 3 tools: Batch Builder, DRS Drop Boxes, DRS Web Admin.
Batch Builder requires:
- Harvard ID
DRS Drop Boxes require:
- Access through a Harvard VPN tunnel
DRS Web Admin requires:
- Harvard ID
- Access through a Harvard VPN tunnel
Acquiring a Harvard ID
A Harvard ID is required to use Batch Builder for DRS deposits and to access DRS Web Admin to correct deposits or manage and report on collections. A Harvard ID is also required to secure a Harvard VPN tunnel account (needed when accessing DRS from a non-Harvard network). A Harvard sponsoring unit can submit a Temporary Access Card Request form (POI Role) to ID Card Services at the Campus Service Center to request a temporary Harvard ID for contractors, consultants or vendors.

Acquiring Access to the Harvard Network
Access can only be provided through a Harvard VPN tunnel. A Harvard sponsoring unit can request VPN access for DRS for a consultant, contractor or vendor with a Harvard ID, through the LTS Support Center.
