2024 March 8 - ArchivesSpace 3.4.1

Updates in this release:

  • HOLLIS for Archival Discovery feedback form is live
  • New subject import spreadsheet
  • New 200 pixel minimum width for thumbnails
  • Solr 8→9 upgrade, leading to better search relevance
  • New Digital Object icons in HOLLIS for Archival Discovery (tree navigation and links out to viewer)
  • Subjects are now listed under subheadings (Topical, Geographic, etc)
  • Date labels (e.g. Created, Broadcast) now display in HOLLIS for Archival Discovery
  • Identifier display in resource trees in the staff interface
  • Mixed content validation for titles in the staff interface

May 2023 ArchivesSpace v3.3.1 released on 05/2/2023

Updates in this release:

  • Ability to link accession records to archival object records at any component level.

  • Ability to spawn an archival object record from an accession record; see the User Guide for more information. 

  • New container bulk operation: the ability to bulk update indicators (container numbers)

  • Bulk import templates can now be downloaded from within the staff module. Go to Repository settings (gear icon) > Bulk Import Templates.

  • Bulk import now supports loading multiple digital objects per archival object. Related to this – the auto-generated digital object ref ID that you get from bulk import is now in the form of an alphanumeric string (e.g., b51c4d7f14cd1556be1199e5eac710d9) rather than a pattern based on the archival object ID (e.g., wid00001c00002d). The old auto-generated patterned ref ID format is not compatible with loading multiple DOs per AO so it was dropped. Note that it is still possible to create custom DO ref ids by adding them to the spreadsheet template or by manually entering them in the staff module.

  • Generate custom reports from the staff interface; See the User Guide for more information. Note: using custom reports requires that the user's permission group is assigned the new permission “manage custom report templates”.

  • PUI: Update Baker repository name in PUI display (from Baker Library Special Collections to Baker Library Special Collections and Archive).

  • PUI: Update to Request List page instructions to better guide users thru the request process.

  • PUI: Citation modal window display has changed layout from tabbed to a single window to improve accessibility.

Known issues:

  • Some local digitization/linking workflows may need updating in the wake of changes to import spreadsheet auto-generated ref IDs.
  • PUI: Oddities in sorting of search results, especially date sorting. Some of this odd sorting also happens in production, so perhaps not a new issue. Sorting is controlled by core code, so LTS will refer this issue to Lyrasis for investigation.

June 2022 LTS maintenance sprint 

  • LTSMAINT-321  ASPACE: 3.0.2 Sandbox completion (the sandbox instance of ASpace is open for business)
  • LTSMAINT-323  ASPACE: PDF generation omits non-Latin characters (CJK and Russian characters now appearing in PUI PDF)
  • LTSMAINT-325  ASPACE: Investigation: oai harvester fails when an invalid ead is found (Fix for: “If it encountered an invalid EAD, Harvard’s OAI export would just stop”)
  • LTSMAINT-424  Get PDF caching working in Dockerized ArchivesSpace (PDF downloads in the PUI are fixed)
    • The PUI cache of PDFs is once again getting refreshed when EADs are updated in staff mode.
    • The PUI cache is updated at the top of every hour.
