1xx Main-entry fields

These fields contain a name or a uniform title heading used as main entry. Typically a named main entry would contain the creator of the material; this may include the name of the person, family, or entity responsible for bringing the materials together. The main entry may also contain the name of the person, family, or entity for whom or which a collection is named.

Note that in general, indicators and subfields are the same in all of the headings fields for personal names, corporate names, meeting names, and uniform titles in the main-entry (1xx), subject added-entry (6xx), and added-entry (7xx) fields.
