Searching

The same image data set is available in both HOLLIS and HOLLIS Images. The only difference is the presentation of the result list. 

HOLLIS (Everything scope) also includes images from databases such as Artstor in addition to original images from Harvard’s collections. You can also search by image record ID straight from the main search box.
(e.g. olvwork20009211 or HUAM256843)

Images and groups of images will display a thumbnail preview in the results list. Narrow your search by clicking the Image resource type facet.

 


Use facets to refine by Place, Subject, etc. You can also limit your results to Visual Works with Originals at Harvard. 

Details and Image Grid

The Details view in HOLLIS displays important information about the image or group and a thumbnail gallery.

 



Click on an individual image to view it in larger form or see its component metadata: 



Groups of images - full metadata of all components

Use the "View all component metadata" button to see all component of a group and metadata associated with each image.
