Literature Online | we have the collection Literature Online (LION) – US Customers Only active for search in CDI. This collection has a very high record count, and I would expect that it covers the Literature Online subcollections, but I am not finding records for these example searches: Man with the carpet bag [1866] (Book / Farce in Literature Online - English Drama) Looking over London (Book Chapter / Poem from The Brown Parrots Of Providencia in Literature Online - The Faber Poetry Library / Literature Online - Twentieth-Century English Poetry ) The Brown Parrots Of Providencia (Book from Literature Online - The Faber Poetry Library / Literature Online - Twentieth-Century English Poetry) | 8/24/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | This seems like a content issue. We will have a look and update... |
Supreme Court Insight 1975-2016 | Records not found in Primo- examples expected to be searchable: Ohio Civil Rights Comm'n v. Dayton Schools (85-488) | 8/14/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | Several of the Supreme Court Insight collections, including Supreme Court Insight 1975-2016, were not mapped in CDI. The addition of collection identifiers to Alma is underway and the content should be available in Primo by the end of the month. The Supreme Court Insight collections have been updated. Content should be available now: |
Humanities Index | This record from Humanities Index (ProQuest) has an Online access not found message: | 8/14/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | This is another software problem that has been referred to the development team with high priority. The activation and publishing look correct but CDI fails to calculate Full Text availability for the records. |
Digital National Security Archive (DNSA) | Not enough information about collections to decide whether component collections shoudl be activated. Example: For the ProQuest DNSA collection, we have this main collection (activated for full text & has CDI): Digital National Security Archive (DNSA) Collection ID: 612220051610003941 MMS ID: 990080958020203941 But there are also 55 sub-collections databases (not activated & have CDI), here are a few examples: Digital National Security Archive (DNSA): Afghanistan: The Making of U.S. Policy, 1973-1990 Collection ID: 612321162870003941 MMS ID: 99153845408903941 Digital National Security Archive (DNSA): Argentina, 1975-1980: The Making of U.S. Human Rights Policy Collection ID: 612321171880003941 MMS ID: 99153845244503941 Digital National Security Archive (DNSA): China and the United States: From Hostility to Engagement, 1960-1998 Collection ID: 612321163590003941 MMS ID: 99153845412303941 Do we need to activate both the main selective package and the databases in CDI? It would be helpful if there was more information available, especially describing what was included in the main collections. | 7/1/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | under reivew | We are checking this issue and will decide whether to make any changes in the way the collections are presented in the KB. Meanwhile, There is no need to activate both. If you are subscribed to All DNSA collection your activation is OK and you have access to all the content. |
TN_cdi_proquest_journals_2215510109 | "0 - 0 of 0 / No full text was found due to a technical issue" error message. | 6/29/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | ...has been addressed with a metadata correction. The changes will take effect when the next index update cycle completes sometime next Wednesday (August 26). |
Business Premium Collection | "0 - 0 of 0 / No full text was found due to a technical issue" error message. Example for Business Premium Collection: Hollis link | 6/29/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | The linking issue with proquest_reports_1876413254 was caused by a database caching problem. It was fixed without a code change and therefore did not need to wait for the September release as I initially assumed. |
Smithsonian Digital Repository | CDI records for OA content from Smithsonian Digital Repository are not linking to full text. Example search: Hollis link Results 1 & 3 are from Smithsonian dspace; both display as OA but with Online access not found: Hollis link Hollis link | 6/30/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Pending resolution | ...referred this to development. Smithsonian Digital Repository (DBID K9L) is published to CDI as a searchable collection and therefore does not display as available online. CDI does not automatically display open access records as available, but in this case the collection is active so the records should display as available online. |
ECCO, EEBO, EEBO legacy | No full text was found due to a technical issue error messages for CDI records for ECCO and EEBO. The search and title I tested is: Each of the CDI records gets an error message: Early English Books Online -Licence Nationale (Legacy): Hollis link Eighteenth Century Collections Online, Part I: Hollis link As of 9/4 the reported links are working, but other example records from cdi_chadwyckhealey_eebo/ Early English Books Online -Licence Nationale (Legacy) records still get 0 - 0 of 0 / No full text was found due to a technical issue: Homer in a nutshell, or, His War between the frogs and the mice: in three cantos TN_cdi_chadwyckhealey_eebo_ocm27024430e Records tested from cdi_proquest_miscellaneous/Early English Books Online have working links: Homer in a nutshell, or, His War between the frogs and the mice: in three cantos | 7/1/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | The error is returned because the publication title is missing from the PNX and therefore not passed to the link resolver. This is a software defect scheduled for development. I will follow-up with planned release date. |
CRL Catalog record for Boston Globe has linking problems to PQ site: Hollis link I am not sure why but it seems to send out “1960” when linking to sources and this causes problems at the resource platform: The first link to PQ Historical Newspapers gets to the correct site, but it appears to be adding a publication date to the search. The second link works correctly. | 7/2/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved
Seeing unexplained/changing results for search: Boston Globe 7/1/2020 search results included 2 CDI records with sources that I could not locate as Alma collections: PNX record has a field TN cdi “Parliamentary Library Australia”: Hollis link ”TN cdi tohukugakuin eresources” in the PNX record: Hollis link These results could not be replicated 7/2/2020; the new results included a CDI CRL Catalog record | 7/1/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Cancelled | These records are no longer active
CDI record count on CDI tab in Alma may not be accurate (e.g., CrossRef currently shows 0, when there are actually 78,788,145 records.) | 6/9/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | CDI counts for electronic collections expected to be updated within the next month.
Many CDI records have no source displayed Example records from CRL Catalog: | 6/17/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | The source field may be missing in CDI for content that belongs to Full Text selective packages. A comprehensive update to add source names for this set is planned for September/October.
Collection mapping: some Alma collections may be mapped to multiple CDI collections. This can result in a different collection name displaying as the Record Source in Primo Examples: The only EEBO record source displaying is Early English Books Online -Licence Nationale (Legacy), which we do not have active for search in Alma. We are seeing results from Journal Title and Record Source Thieme RÖMPP Online / Thieme ROMPP Online which is not activated in Alma | 6/16/2020 6/16/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp Submitted via Basecamp | Pending update | This is another mapping issue. The Alma collection Early English Books Online, Collection ID 612220055350003941, is mapped to 5 CDI collections including DBID BBWEO "Early English Books Online - Licence Nationale (Legacy)" and this value displays in the facet. "Thieme RÖMPP" is mapped to "Thieme EbookLibrary" Collection ID 612320217560003941. The CDI and Alma collection names don't match but Thieme EbookLibrary is Active for search in CDI and record are returned in the expanded search. (This case has) been referred to the Content Operation group
Oxford Music ONline | We have Oxford Music Online active for search in CDI, but are not finding results in Primo. Example search terms for entries in Oxford Music/Grove Music Online are: “ajaeng” “alden jenks” “absetzen” | 6/16/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Pending update; in analysis as of 8/24/2020 | There are a couple of mapping issues occurring here. Of the four portfolios listed for Oxford Music Online, records from Oxford Dictionary of Music are returned in Primo: (This case has) been referred to the Content Operation group |
Collections with archival material without identifiers and where the selective flag is activated on the CDI tab | We found some examples of CDI records that are not linking to full text, even though we own these collections:
| 6/13/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | For these cases, both collections contain archival material and are subscribed selectively. The portfolios lack identifiers (ISBN/ISSN) so CDI is unable to assign rights at the title level and the records do not display as available online. We are discussing options to handle content without identifiers programmatically. In the meantime, there is a possible workaround. If by any chance all portfolios are activated, the selective flag could be removed. CDI then will assign rights for all titles in the collection and the records will display as available. E-Resources is reviewing possible affected records and removing the selective flag on the CDI tab. Ex Libris states the next update rights cycle should complete Monday or Tuesday (6/15 or 6/16). |
Weekly Toyo Keizai | For the collection: Weekly Toyo Keizai, a CDI search returns 57,000+ results:
| 6/9/2020 | Submitted via Basecamp | Resolved | Was temporary problem with Alma availability service. |
