B02 - Bound materials, Studio Photography ^

This service is suitable for the most fragile, rare, and complex materials, and/or in cases where fidelity to the original is emphasized.  Examples include materials with fine detail such as etchings or small text, materials with color imagery where color matching is desired, materials that cannot take glass on page surfaces, volumes with many fold-outs and tip-ins such as a scrapbook and materials that require greater than 300 dpi resolution or special lighting/processing. Service can be customized and adapted for specific needs and requirements.

Eligible source materials

  • Bound materials in any condition
  • Volume size - up to 15" x 23" (portrait or landscape orientation)
  • Binding thickness - up to 4"
  • Volume must open to at least 90 degrees

Deliverables, pricing, and restrictions

  • Variable/custom dpi image capture

  • Image level tone and color matching

  • Delivery via Harvard Page Viewer

  • Whole volume. Blanks can be skipped if they are in a continuous run or if they have a regular pattern (i.e. all versos are blank)

  • Two-page spreads are possible if volume opens to 180 degrees and total measurement from cover to cover doesn’t exceed 15" x 23"
