Winter 2019

Library Technology Services and Harvard Library staff are engaging in a Pilot project to extend batch item update functions to library staff to update item records in batch.

Pilot Milestones

  1. Development of training script & materials. (Completed Jan 2019)
  2. Review by LTS Tech Team and Working Group Co-Chairs. (Completed Jan 2019)
  3. Identification of initial cohort of participants with Working Group Co-Chairs and Alma Executive Committee (Completed Jan 2019)
  4. Pilot training project. 
    1. Training on batch item update process. (Jan 30, 2019)
    2. Pilot members will independently practice batch item updates. (Feb 2019) 
    3. Once pilot members feel comfortable with the process, they will ask LTS to review the updated records. (Feb 2019) 
    4. LTS will review the records loaded for the operator and confirm the project was completed according to proper parameters. (Feb 2019) 
    5. Pilot member can begin to update item records in production, in line with the best practices covered in training. (Feb 2019) 
  5. Revise training program based on pilot input. (Expected Mar 2019) 
  6. Extend training to all Harvard Library users with need for batch updates. (Expected Mar 2019)
