Streaming Delivery Service (SDS)
The Streaming Delivery Service (SDS) delivers digital audio and digital video that is stored in the Digital Repository Service (DRS) to web browsers. SDS can restrict audio and video to the Harvard community (i.e. those with a Harvard ID and Harvard Key credentials) when appropriate.
SDS delivery formats:
- Audio files intended for delivery in SDS should be in mp3 or aac/mp4 (m4a) formats in the new DRS. These formats replace Real Audio, which was the supported delivery format in the old DRS. All modern audio players can play mp3 and aac/mp4 files.
- Video files intended for delivery in SDS should be in Quicktime container format using the H.264 video codec and the AAC audio codec and have a file extension ".mp4".
- See more information about formats accepted for SDS delivery here: https://harvardwiki.atlassian.net/wiki/x/zoHeAg
