Overview
Here are the basic steps to upload a batch:Â
- Connect via SFTP to drs2drop.lib.harvard.edu and log into your DRS dropbox account. Then drag and drop the whole batch directory (the one that has the file batch.xml and object directories in it) that BB processed into the "incoming" directory in the dropbox.
- Disconnect from the dropbox to kick-off batch processing.
- Once the batch is processed you will get a successful load batch report or an error report. Based on instructions in the batch, this report may be sent by email, written to your drop box, or both.Â
About dropbox cleanup
After successfully processing a batch, the DRS loader will delete the batch directory from the dropbox unless the Success Method field in deposit settings was set to dropbox or all, in which case the loader will leave a remnant batch directory containing just the load report (all other files are deleted). Note that the loader will not automatically delete these remnant batch directories, so removal is up to the deposit agent. Â
If a batch fails, the DRS loader will rename the batch.xml file to batch.xml.failed but otherwise will leave the batch directory and its contents intact in the dropbox. Failed batch directories can remain in the dropbox for one month after which the loader will remove them automatically. If you need to retain a failed batch directory in the dropbox longer than a month, remove or rename the batch.xml.failed file.Â
