April 2024 Release - Harvard Highlights

Ex Libris Documentation

Harvard Alma working groups have summarized key updates below. See the Ex Libris monthly notes for complete details:

Acquisitions / Finance

Enhancements

  • A feature will be released in May that enables users to permanently delete licenses from Alma. Existing licenses that have the status of "deleted" will get the new status of "inactive" and will not be automatically removed from Alma.

Resolved

  • If there were missing PO lines when importing EDI, the error did not include the PO line or vendor reference number. This was fixed.
  • In the new UI for PO lines, the Receiving Operator role could not edit and save PO lines when coming from the receiving workbench. This was fixed.

Analytics & Reporting

Enhancements

  • Updated Documentation for Analytics Tables - As part of an ongoing project and in alignment with the Analytics Community of Practice, Ex Libris is enriching the documentation of several analytics field tables each month. This initiative aims to assist and support users in comprehending how our Alma data is represented in Alma Analytics. This month, the following tables within the Funds Expenditure subject area have been updated:
  • E-Inventory > (Portfolio Details for Consortia >) Portfolio > Proquest Purchase Model field was renamed to Purchase Model, since the field can now display the purchase models for JSTOR in addition to Proquest. This enhancement supports an E-Inventory development to expand integration capabilities to include JSTOR titles, which will be released in May.
  • The new Deep Link Authentication Method Analytics configuration page is now available (Configuration > Analytics > General Configuration > Deep Link Authentication Method). It contains the analytics_auth_method parameter that was previously under Configuration > Analytics > General Configuration > Other Settings. For more information, see Analytics Configuration - Deep Link Authentication Method.

Resolved

  • Incorrect information was displayed in reports for the Renewals field (Fulfillment > Loan). This was fixed.
  • Patron Statistical Category data is missing for renewals. This was fixed.
  • The "Upload" option in the Alma Analytic folders to upload a logo to reports did not appear. This was fixed.
  • When creating reports for fines in Alma Analytics, the report displayed multiple lines for the same fine. This was fixed.
  • The "Expired" status was not displayed for the Patron Active Status field (Borrowing Requests (Resource Sharing) > Borrowing Request Details). This was fixed and now the "Expired" status is displayed.
  • Permissions for data sets are not remembered by Alma Analytics and need to be reset repeatedly. This was fixed.

Course Reserves/Leganto

Enhancements

  • Analytics: The Year Over Year tab was added to the Leganto Student Usage Dashboard. It displays the following information concerning Leganto usage across multiple years, including future projections:
    • Number of active students per year
    • Number of active courses per year
    • Number of active reading lists per year
    • Number of active citations per year
    • Number of full text views per year
  • The Citation Usage tab was added to the Leganto Student Usage Dashboard.

Resolved

  • In some cases, when copying a section from one list to another list, the original list needed to be refreshed before being displayed correctly, and the copied section was not added to the correct place in the list. This was fixed.
  • Previously, Links and availability was not displayed when selecting Add and edit when adding a new item to a list. This was fixed.

E-Resources

Enhancements

Resolved

  • The display of portfolios' coverage in the electronic services editor was inaccurate when using a data format with dots (dd.MM.yyyy). This resulted in incorrect date representation. This was fixed.
