September 2022 Release - Harvard Highlights

Ex Libris Documentation

Harvard Alma working groups have summarized key updates below. See the Ex Libris monthly notes for complete details:

Analytics & Reporting

  • Resolved

    • The Loan Note field (Fulfillment > Loan Details) did not display data. This was fixed.
    • The Physical Items > PO Line > PO Line Notes field displayed deleted notes. This was fixed and now this field displays only active notes.
    • The "Forecast" option was not working in Data Visualization. This was fixed.
    • Some LC classifications were being displayed as “Unknown”. This was fixed.
    • Adding LC Classification fields was creating discrepancies. This was fixed.

Course Reserves/Leganto

  • Enhancements

    • You can now archive courses in Alma, enabling your library to reduce the amount of data you view in Alma without deleting historical information. Archived courses are still available for reference purposes, and you can view statistical data on archived courses via Alma Analytics. Courses can be archived and unarchived individually or in bulk
    • Previously, when all citations on a reading list were marked as complete and the reading list status is set to Complete, the Current Request for Review date did not update when the reading list was published. Now, when a reading list is published, and the parameter send_list_on_published (Configuration > Leganto > List Management > Settings) is set to true, the Current Request for Review date updates to the current date regardless of the reading list citation status.
  • Resolved

    • The label for reporting broken links extended out of the message box. This was fixed.
    • Previously, when an item was in a temporary location and then returned to the library, Alma assigned the item a transit status for the Default Circulation Desk rather than directing the item to the correct location. This was fixed.
    • Due to redundancy, the Full Mode icon full mode icon was removed from the PDF view.

Fulfillment

  • Resolved

    • Previously, work orders always had expected-completion dates, and these dates were displayed in Primo. It is now possible to configure a work-order department to have no expected-completion dates for their work orders, by entering ‘999999‘ in the ‘Work Time (days)‘ field of the department‘s configuration.
    • When a resource-sharing item was returned through the Return Items page, Alma incorrectly marked the item as In Place instead of putting it in transit to the owning library. Alma now marks these items correctly as in transit to the owning library.
