Radcliffe College Reunion Reports
Schlesinger is the repository of record for the Radcliffe College archives, so we hold copies of the class reunion reports. In 2022, a large reorganizing/rehousing project was undertaken for these materials. Here are some notes about the planned final state of these items:
- The Library will keep the most complete available holdings of each Radcliffe class's reports for the years 1899-1977 on site in the Pool Vault. The 852 for these holdings should look like this:
852 8_ $$b SCH $$c REF $$h Radcliffe Reunion Reports $$i Class of YYYY
- Additional copies of reports from the classes of 1899-1977 will marked as c.2 and sent to HD.
- For class years from 1978-1999, all items will be sent to HD.
- The decision about which years to keep copies of on site was made in consultation with Research Services and reflects the time period before Harvard University took over all responsibility for undergraduate education.
- We do not hold any reunion reports for class years after 1999, since "Radcliffe" was dropped entirely from the undergraduate diploma starting in 2000.
- Some classes still send their reunion reports to the Library through the Harvard Alumni Association. If further reports come in from classes still actively holding reunions (largely 1970 and after), they should be added to the appropriate holding. Below is a list of the MMSIDs for each class year's reports.
- Note that some class years have multiple records because they transitioned from having a Radcliffe-only report to a joint Harvard and Radcliffe report at some point in their history. Moving forward, it's likely that all reports will be on the H-R record.
- Per Research Services, reports are given the variant title: $$i Commonly known as: $$a Radcliffe reunion report : $$b Class of YYYY
- Occasionally you will see a Radcliffe reunion report bound tête-bêche with a Harvard reunion report (often for later reunions, i.e. 60th, 65th, 70th, on classes from the 1950s and 1960s). For these, add the tête-bêche volumes to the already existing record for that Radcliffe class year. Include a 580 note in the bib record: "Issues for <YYYY-> bound with reports of the Harvard College Class of YYYY." Also include a 246 for the Harvard title: "$$i Title on back cover: $$a Harvard College Class of YYYY ... anniversary report."
