Culinary Pamphlets

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PHYSICALLY PROCESSING CULINARY PAMPHLETS.docx

Notes for Cataloging

Feel  free to question placement – many items could be assigned to any of a few different categories, i.e. a government bulletin on canning could go in Canning and Preserving or Government Bulletins.

Feel free to question whether or not something should be included in the culinary pamphlets collection or if it should be a stand alone item.

Feel  free to question housing – i.e. choice of zip lock vs. colibri

Feel free to recommend moving something to culinary ephemera if is is “uncatalogable”/difficult to catalog.

When Colibring I’m trying to leave slack for easy removal.

Sometimes Anne H’s search slips are inside – she used short slips that don’t stick out.

Many items have already been cataloged but are being re designated – I’ve sometimes “undone” classification to put in boxes.  Search carefully to make sure you’re not overlooking copy already in Hollis.

Cross through old PR6 box number, write in new box number and barcode.

Some pamphlets have already been bookplated, but if not we won’t.  Please do write “Schlesinger Library” and source, if known and if there’s an appropriate place to write it.

We’ll need to use find spacers for the boxes.
