REMEMBER: Only designated staff members are permitted to run jobs. Refer to the matrix at Jobs & Batch Processes to see which staff members are approved to run which jobs.

This import profile accepts a single MARCXML record for loading into Alma. The record should be UTF8. 

File requirements

• UTF8 encoding format
• Non-Latin fields should be in 880 pairs
• Format: MARCXML

Matching

• If the uploaded record has an 001 and it matches an Alma MMS ID, the Alma record will be overlaid (local fields will be protected).  See list of protected fields here: https://harvardwiki.atlassian.net/wiki/x/6aGVAgE
  • If the target record is locked by a staff member in the Metadata Editor, it will not be overlaid
• If the uploaded record has no 001, it will load as a new record

Holdings/Items

• No inventory will be created. 

Running the job

• Go to Resources >> Upload Single Record from File
• Choose your file
  
• You can choose either Submit, or Submit and Edit
  • Submit will run the job and take you to a Search Result with the imported record
  • Submit and Edit will run the job and open the record in the Metadata Editor
