Staff new HOL (no item) match 001 (CSV)

REMEMBER: Only designated staff members are permitted to run jobs. Refer to the matrix at Jobs & Batch Processes to see which staff members are approved to run which jobs.

This import profile is designed to add a single holding to an existing bib record. A new holding will only be created if the lib/loc from the input file does not already exist.

The input file will match to a bib based on bib MMS ID (001 field). The existing bib is not changed.

Requirements

  • File must be in .csv format
  • First line must begin with: 001,852$b,852$c
  • The 3 required columns contain: 001 of bib, library code, location code
  • If a record is locked by a staff member no data will be created

Sample files

Two Google spreadsheets are available as samples. Either file must be downloaded as CSV in order to load into Alma. From Google sheets, choose File > Download > Comma Separate Values (.csv)

Important: fixed fields cannot be added/changed when using CSV input files. An additional job will need to be run after the load has completed

Optional data columns

Note: example of how to include field indicators in CSV input files

  • 852$b (no indicators)
  • 8528$b (first indicator only)
  • 85281$b (first and second indicator)
  • 852 1$b (second indicator only)

IMPORTANT: when adding a field with multiple subfields (e.g. multiple columns), each column header must have the same indicators, e.g.

  • 852 7 $b
  • 852 7 $c
  • 852 7 $h
  • 852 7 $i

Supported subfields for 852 (besides b,c)

  • 338
  • 506
  • 538
  • 583
