Prompts
Prompts Overview
To allow users to restrict the data output of an analysis to different categories when they run it, you can define user prompts. The user can then select and filter the data prior to running it without editing the structure of the report.
Read the Running Reports in Alma documentation for more on the user side of prompts.
Add a Prompt
After opening a report in Edit mode, click on the Prompts tab and the green + icon to create a new column prompt.
Â

- Add a Description if desired
- Choose an Operator for the prompt

- Modify additional Options
- Choice List Values
- Identify a Default selection (if the user does not make a choice, this is the default response to the prompt)

- Set a Variable
You can customize additional formatting of text and instruction relating to the prompt in the Display work area on the Results tab.
