Present: Susan, Dorothy, Adrien, Linda (minutes), Lewis


Susan:

  • Francis will present at the TS department meeting in February
  • Department update to Houghton staff will be sent out in February
  • Kate is involved in planning for the reopening of the reading room – currently unknown as to who will be returning to work in the reading room, but TS on-site staff will remain as part of TS on-site staff and there will be no splitting shift to work in both areas
  • HL/HCL Strategic Organizational Review Process – SMG will discuss next steps
  • TS Department FY21 Objectives and Priorities - Identify a few to focus on first
    • Priority 3 - Developing an informal system to engage with one another
      • Let's get staff input
    • Priority 6 - What are some ways to develop collaboration and integrate user feedback?
      • Consider folding this into current YPE on this topic
    • Priority 7 - Ways to share information
      • Some already in place, but let's get staff input for more ideas
      • Transparency around TS accessions and curators - joint routing slip
    • Professional Development - need ideas to move this along by staff

Lewis:

  • Completed review of approximately 180 WPR items on spreadsheet.  Updated everything and will meet with Mary and Christina to address remaining questions.  Then Lewis and Michael can restart the Poetry project in February.
  • Meg is still enjoying the Pamphlet Cataloging Project
  • On-site work is going well

Adrien:

  • Staff working on YPE and other projects
    • Annalisa is creating best practices guide for describing materials for people with disability
    • Monique is leading a pilot project to develop emulation service for born digital materials
    • Vernica is working with HL/HCL archival group to survey ArchivesSpace for description of certain terms
    • Irina is leading a "mrs." project

Dorothy:

  • Critical cataloging webinar next week that may be of interest
  • On-site work is going well; some linking issues with Gatsos and WPR
  • Working on bringing back disbound bound-with pamphlets from Imaging
  • Moderating BSA's Bibliography in Action panel, with focus on one of Houghton's digitized books

Linda:

  • Everyone's work is going well
  • Will be sending out an email to TS with Data Sync update
  • Alma outstanding issues with LTS:
    • Automated authority control issue - Records with Homer's "Odyssey" uniform title are flipping to Odyssey television program title; LTS still working on isolating the issue
    • "Scan and Deliver" display issue in Hollis brought up by Kate (from Dale) for some of the HTC materials should be resolved already
