  • The Book Hospital one year position will be posting soon.
  • Jennifer Dunlap begins work as Rare Book Cataloger on March 11.
  • Betts Coup is now a permanent member of the staff.
  • The posting for the two year Creative Arts Archivist position is posting soon.

Renovation

  • Allie Steed and Michael Pasternak have begun work processing the Fearing collection from the Public Services office area, updating Alma, end-processing material, and making HD shipments.
  • The Collections Division is aware that March-August has been designated a period of limited acquisitions activity.
  • Susan and Linda have worked on clearing the BAL Room:
    • locked cabinets with collection material (cataloged and ready for end-processing);
    • reference collection (with material slated for move to Pusey, move to HD, deaccessioning, and destruction (of outdated manuals). Michael P. will work on these materials.
  • April will see several moving projects, including Horblit and Theatre.
  • Staff should continue to clear work areas of clutter, and move collection material on toward final disposition.
  • When collection material is moved to a temporary location, a record must be kept.
  • Student staff have worked on boxing negative files and departmental files in Theatre, in preparation for relocation.
  • Matt Wittmann and Dale Stinchcomb are organizing curatorial materials in Theatre, in preparation for relocation.
  • Meg McNiff has begun relocating low-priority gift material from the Mezzanine to Lamont B-33.
  • Betts is closing out odds-and-ends in Theatre.
  • A furniture consultant will be visiting Theatre soon to inventory items and prepare for their disposition.

Other

  • Magee Lawhorn and Betts will visit HD March 5 to process the incoming Arias collection.
  • Michael P. has already processed Theatre files.
  • Andrea Cawelti has been appointed chair of the Sheet Music Interest Group of the Music Library Association.
  • Lewis continues to process a heavy round of collection storage supplies for end-processing and preservation.
